Amanda and Mathieu’s engagement session at CFB Borden, was super fun and humbling at the same time. Cris and I had never had the opportunity to photograph there, so we jumped at the chance. Amanda was raised on base, and met Mathieu one year when she was home for the summer, and he was training there; naturally having their engagement session at CFB Borden was a given.
CFB Borden is home to the Military Museum, where you can see a great variety of retired tanks and airplanes, from Canada, United States, and England, as well as, other countries. There are also monuments that honour our fallen soldiers of the past! Borden opened at the height of WWI as a training base for the Canadian Expeditionary Force. The historic birthplace of the Royal Canadian Air Force, CFB Borden is the largest training facility in the Canadian Forces.
Mathieu is a materials technician for EME, and wanted to incorporate his military background into their engagement session at CFB Borden. It was truly an experience photographing there, a constant reminder that we live in a free country because of the men and women that have fought, and died to keep it so!
Amanda and Mathieu’s summer wedding at Drysdales Tree Farm is going to be awesome, and we can’t wait! We simply adore photographing engagement sessions. It gives us the opportunity to get to know our couples, and discover amazing locations to photograph! Congratulations guys, and thank you so much for choosing us for your big day!
Cris wanted to be a pilot when he was younger, so he was totally in heaven around these beautiful machines.
